For the past two years I have been working as a support worker with a 7-year old girl who has special needs. I have thoroughly enjoyed doing this role. .....I have previously nannied for a family with 18-month old twin girls, one of whom had special needs and very serious health problems. I enjoyed the challenges this posed and have gained a lot of experience from working with the twins, and supporting them as a family.
I provide learning experiences for individual children that are relative to their unique learning dispositions, in relation to the early childhood education curriculum Te Whāriki. I always ensure there is a variety of learning opportunities and experiences available to choose from. Allowing children to have a choice is strong in my philosophy for early learning. Along with choice, I have a strong passion for infants and toddlers as I believe many underestimate their capabilities. I love watching them learn and grow into confident, competent and capable learners.
I love working with children because they teach us so much, and it gives me the best feeling knowing that I have supported them to achieve their learning and personal goals. I love nannying because the children to educator ratios are fantastic. It enables us to have intimate learning experiences, which ensures the children are getting more out of their activities.
I have worked in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector in various roles: as a centre-based teacher, as a home-based educator and as a centre cook! ....My qualifications include a Master’s of Science degree and a Diploma of Teaching (ECE). ....
I enjoy working with children and I love being a special person in their lives for a period of time. I seek to honour the trust placed in me to care for and nurture the wellbeing and development of each child, and I particularly enjoy nurturing and caring for infants.
Hi, I am a nanny with Wild Things. I have plenty of experience being a nanny. I have been working with one family in Queenstown for over seven years. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the children's lives for such an extended period - being a teacher, friend and role model. I look forward to meeting new families in the Dunedin area, who are wanting a kind, mature and fun nanny to help and care for their little ones.
I have always worked with families with young children, first as a Karitane nurse for Plunket in the Otago area, then I graduated as an early childhood teacher in 1994. A good part of this time has been in the home-based sector as a visiting teacher, a home-based educator and for the last six years as a nanny. For the last five years I have had the honour of being Simon's nanny, and have enjoyed every day I get to spend with Simon and his amazing family. Every day is a fun-filled adventure. I have also had the opportunity to meet and work with other wonderful families and colleagues.
I am an experienced nanny and have cared for children from one week to nine years old. I have a great passion for my work and thoroughly enjoy working with children. I love the fun and laughter a child creates. I am reliable, honest, supportive, easy to approach, and regard myself as very capable. I hold a driver's license, current First Aid certificate and I have wonderful references from past families.
