Kia Ora!

I‘m Suzanne. I have three children: Latu and Ana who are young adults now, and Jesse who is at primary school.

I have been teaching for many years and am a qualified early childhood teacher.  Originally as a swimming teacher, then teaching children in my home.  In 2007 I completed a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE).  I have taught in a wide range of Early Childhood services: home-based ECE is my favourite by far!!

I enjoy the outdoors, have a passion for learning about different cultures, and working in collaboration with parents to discover each child’s interests, ideas and understandings of the world.  By listening and respecting children, they become confident, competent explorers and discoverers.  I provide a safe secure environment that facilitates open-ended exploration, communication and activities.  I use natural approaches to learning, with focus on social skills, natural discoveries, mathematics, literacy and music.

Additional to my qualifications, I also hold Certificates in First Aid, Teachers Aiding, Breastfeeding Peer Support Counselling, Play Centre, Te Ara Reo Māori and Swimming Teaching.

I look forward to working with you and your child soon.  Together we can gain new ideas and knowledge, and best of all having fun learning with the children!
