Kia Ora, my name is Sammy. My partner, Jake, and I have two boys, Abel and Colton. We live in Abbotsford in a cosy home with a big outdoor area to explore.
I come from a large family and am the eldest of six, and I grew up with my mum offering home-based care to children of all ages. This has given me an appreciation of the value of home-based care and I chose Wild Things as the early childhood provider for my own children. I have been at Playcentre since Abel was little and this helped develop my passion for learning through play in close relationships with others. I am working towards my Certificate in Early Childhood Practice to extend my understanding of children’s learning.
I am creative and enjoy sharing arts, crafts and music with the children, and I use waiata (songs) as a way to introduce children to Te Reo Maori. Our garden offers lots of space for active movement, and we regularly visit the parks from Mosgiel through to Abbotsford to play or simply to explore nature. Where possible we join other Wild Things educators and children at playgroups and on outings or playdates.
I would love to meet with you to talk about how I can be part of your child’s early childhood journey with you.
