Kerry Duncan

Full Cert. Early Childhood Practice Level 4
Invercargill

Hi, my name is Kerry Duncan.  I have been very happily married to Dave for 20 years now and together we have three great kids, Jynelle, Jacinda and Jimmy.

My family and I all love having other children around.  Our fully-fenced section has loads of space for running and playing.

Inside the house is also a great play area because I love toys!  I believe in variety, which shows in my selection of fun, age-appropriate creative toys, books and puzzles.

I joined Wild Things in June 2009 as a home-based educator.  I have a comprehensive First Aid certificate and Module One New Zealand Certificate in Family Day Care.  I am now continuing my studies with subsequent modules of the certificate.  I was awarded the 2015 National Educator of the Year.

I like Wild Things' philosophy of holistic learning, and try to take advantage of every opportunity in our regular day to encourage children in my care to grow in every area of their lives.

Home-based care gives me the freedom to do spur-of-the-moment outings with the children, whether it’s a visit to the park or pet shop, or just next door to Grandmas.  I am able to create opportunities to show and teach a child something fun and new.  I can also tailor my days to suit the individual needs of each child.

If you feel that I’m the right person to care for your precious little one, just give me a call and we can talk over a cuppa.
