Kia Ora, my name is Alison Smart and I have been an educator for 10 years. I am based in Mornington and currently doing my Early Childhood Degree. I have two wonderful boys, Daniel aged 22 and Nick aged 20, both studying at the Otago University. Daniel is doing his Master’s Degree in Marine Science and Nick is doing Business and Tourism. Both my boys have a passion for football as they have both played since they were five years old! Daniel and Nick have grown up with home-based care and love engaging with the children; the relationship between the boys and my care children has always been reciprocal.
My passion is to teach and nurture children in my home, guiding their holistic development through the early childhood curriculum, empowering their learning with every opportunity, and to explore and grow as individuals.
I would like to invite you to come and meet with me and my care children in my home and discuss as a parent what your aspirations for your child are and run you through my programme and see my environment. My aim is to inspire the children, in the growth of their own individual development, including them growing with their peers within the wider Wild Things group and community.
